White Sox Minor League Update: June 19-25

Scores, stats, and news from the White Sox farm system

Now that the Great Falls Voyagers are in action, let's take a look at the players worth following:

Position players

1B Corey Zangari: The White Sox' sixth-round pick from 2015 struggled in his jump from high school to A-ball, hitting .166/.247/.314 over 57 games with Kannapolis. This league should be more his speed.

OF Alex Call: The center fielder from Ball State signed for third-round slot value ($719,000).

OF Jameson Fisher: The fourth-rounder out of Southeastern Louisiana University caught, then played first base after labrum surgery. He'll be in a corner spot for the Voyagers after signing for slightly below slot ($485,000), where his track record as an excellent collegiate hitter will be needed.

C Nate Nolan: The eighth-rounder out of St. Mary's signed for slightly below slot ($170,000). He's considered a project at the plate, with raw power but a lot of swing and miss.

Pitchers

RHP Yosmer Solorzano: The breakout star from the AZL White Sox pitching staff last season now headlines Great Falls' rotation. He signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2014 for $100,000.

RHP Jake Elliott: He's a poor man's Alec Hansen, literally and figuratively. He's another big Oklahoma pitcher who struggled in his junior season, going from Friday starter to the bullpen.

Sunday's box scores will appear in the comments shortly.
