Chicago White Sox reliever Zach Putnam will be placed on the 10-day disabled list with right elbow inflammation reported by the team. Yesterday, Putnam said himself that he was day to day concerning his elbow.

This news comes off as a bit of disappointing as Putnam was pitching very well. In 8.2 IP, he had only allowed one earned run on two hits while striking out nine. Last season, Putnam was placed on the disabled list for Ulnar Neuritis in his right elbow, causing him to miss the second half.
Filling in for Putnam will be Chris Beck. In five games for the Charlotte Knights in AAA, Beck's pitching line is 8 IP 6 H 2 ER 4 BB 6 K. He pitched in 25 games for the White Sox last season with a 6.39 ERA striking out 20 and walking 17.
