Luis Robert
Baseball America: New Update On Cuban Outfielder Luis Robert
We are still 23 days away from Luis Robert’s window to officially sign with a team. The hype train is still moving along as Ben Badler reports that Robert has worked out for both the Cincinnati Reds and Oakland Athletics this week.
Meanwhile, the White Sox ...

Both executive vice president Ken Williams and general manager Rick Hahn will be in attendance. Team did not confirm report.

The biggest obstacle both Hahn and Williams face trying to sign Robert is convincing owner Jerry Reinsdorf to commit $40+ million to a 19-year old, with almost half of that in tax penalties. Working in tandem was successful when signing Jose Abreu to a team record deal. Hopefully they’ll achieve the same result.
Tale of the Tape: Robert vs. Moncada (MLB.com)
If you are undecided about Luis Robert’s talent level, MLB.com’s Jesse Sanchez compares him to Yoan Moncada. According to the scouting scale, Moncada has the better hit tool and arm. While Robert has the advantage in power and fielding.
MLB Draft
Keith Law’s Top 50 MLB Draft Prospects (ESPN Insider)
Callis/Mayo Top 100 MLB Draft Prospects
If you’re a Chicago Bears fan, I understand if you don’t want to think about anything concerning a “draft.” Yet, the MLB Draft is quickly approaching and the three major publications (Baseball America, MLBPipeline, ESPN) have released their top draft prospect lists.
For those that are Patreon supporters of the podcast, Jim Callis spoke about why the White Sox could do better than Jordan Adell, who was mocked on Baseball America and South Side Sox at pick 11. MLBPipeline has Adell ranked 22nd in their Top 100 list while Keith Law...doesn’t at all. Adell is a notable omission from his list. The one thing that all three can agree on is Hunter Greene is the top prospect in this year’s class.
Sports Illustrated: Hunter Greene is the star baseball needs. First he has to finish high school.
Hunter Greene is a special talent and earned the honor of gracing Sports Illustrated’s cover this week. Lee Jenkins profile speaks about Greene’s abilities but also his potential marketing impact for the sport.
