Soxfest is the official unofficial signal that Spring Training is almost here, and we’re just six days away from kick-off. The Hilton Chicago is going to be a-buzz with people decked out in White Sox gear as they descend on the Downtown for autographs, Q&A, and much more, Friday, January 26 through Sunday, January 28.
Surely the story this year will be all about the bright future of the team and the young players giving fans cause for optimism. Most of those players will be in attendance, including Yoan Moncada, Eloy Jimenez, Michael Kopech, Lucas Giolito, Alec Hansen, Tim Anderson, Reynaldo Lopez, and Zack Collins, as will coaches, broadcasters, former players, and front office members. Check out the full list of White Sox players and personnel in attendance here.
It’s one of the best times of the year to be a fan, especially if you’re going to be there in person. The full schedule of events is yet to be announced, but we’ll definitely get to see a personal side to the team. Last year Rick Renteria made ceviche with Carlos Gaytan in a Top Chef-style competition. We also get to hear Rick Hahn and others talk about the state of the team and give the fans some insight into decision-making. And, of course, it’s always fun to see former greats like Frank Thomas and Harold Baines and do some reminiscing.
So, who’s going to be at Soxfest? What are you most looking forward to?
