Houston Astros at Boston Red Sox, ALCS Game 2 (6:09 CT, TBS)
At least per ZiPS, Brett was right yesterday; the Chris Sale starts are the only ones in which the Boston Red Sox are favored to win, and that didn’t quite go according to plan in Game 1. Sale’s velocity is down, and while that still leaves him as a pretty darn good pitcher, he’s not the same this October.
It’s hard not to relish the universal bedwetting “Red Sox Nation” must be going through heading into Game 2, with faithful favorite punching bag David Price heading to the mound, essentially with a 108-win season’s fate in his hands. I know I’d be crapping myself.
Flip side, it’s pretty funny to see, four straight postseason wins and just one ALCS win under their belts, the Astros being coronated as an “unbeatable dynasty,” “best team eva,” etc. Jeez man.
