Boston Red Sox at Houston Astros, ALCS Game 5 (7:09 CT, TBS)
The subhed says it all, I think: Boston was overlooked as a “dynasty” despite 108 wins, because of what, a bad Game 1 loss at home? I wouldn’t blame them for being ticked enough to run off three straight wins, either.
They can make it four, and a take a trip to the World Series, by wrapping things up tonight.
It’s Justin Verlander vs. David Price, as Chris Sale takes an extra couple of days for tummy rehab. An intriguing matchup, although you’d have to say it’s advantage, Astros.
Still, running off three straight against a 108-win team is a lofty challenge. If Houston pulls it off, hat tip, except to dugout sneak Kyle McLaughlin.
I’m writing this one up a bit early today, so please refer to the MLB link above for lineups.
