Great googly moogly: Glendale wins!

See the Ball, Be the Ball: Burdi continues his excellent fall play with Glendale’s first save of the season.

Glendale Desert Dogs 1, Salt River Rafters 0

Laz Rivera (SS, batting second): 1-for-3

Tanner Banks (start, win, 1-0): 4 IP, 3 H, K, 59 game score, 48 pitches/33 strikes

Zack Burdi (pitched the ninth, save, 1): 1.0 IP, 12 pitches/seven strikes

Sound the bells, the Desert Dogs are in the win column!

Not too much notable on offense in this one, although Rivera got one of Glendale’s six hits, pushing his average up to .222.

Banks and Burdi bookended the game nicely, as the Desert Dogs staff held Salt River to five hits and issued zero walks.

Glendale scored its run in the second and had it hold up. New York Yankees first sacker farmhand Steven Sensley slapped a two-out double to score the game’s only tally.
