First off, a cool piece on the Blackout Game over at Twinkie Town:
The first thing I remember about 163 ‘08 is the Chicago Black Out (Sox fans wearing all black to the game). To this day, I don’t think I’ve seen a stadium of fans as “all-in” as that particular night. A little intimidating, to say the least.

How did I not know that Carlos Carrasco’s nickname was Cookie?
We had 4 different starting pitchers with 200+ strikeouts this season, the 1st team to do so in MLB history.

Cookie's 231 strikeouts were good for 4th in the American League.

Masahiro Tanaka takes on David Price tonight. Tanaka was lousy to finish the season (eight ER in his final eight innings over two starts), but has been aces in his postseason career (four career starts, 1.44 ERA).
Price has two strikes against him heading into this one: He’s been terrible in his postseason career (0-8 with a 5.74 ERA in nine starts) and against the Yankees (2-7, 7.71 ERA in 11 starts). Boston: gulp.
