Impending Free Agents

FREE AGENTS
Lonnie Chisenhall-2 year; $6 million per year. He’s professional and would provide a nice buffer until the crop of outfielders are ready. Has played in a winning environment for some time.

Nori Aoki-1 year; $5.5 million. Another placeholder. Defense and OBP. Offers a different style of player than the White Sox are used to. More than likely not a full-time player, but having someone coming off the bench who can get on base isn’t particularly bad.

Matt Adams-2 year; $6 million per year. He’s different. He’s not Matt Davidson and he’s chubby. He can split time playing 1B and DH.

Patrick Corbin-5 year; $12.5 million per year. Ascending pitcher. Fits in with the re-build timeline.

Josh Harrison-2 year; $8 million per year. Josh is versatile and between he and Yolmer Sanchez the clubhouse would be quite lively. From a baseball perspective, the versatility he offers can provide some value.

TRADES

No. 1: Trade Dane Dunning and Alec Hansen for Colton Welker. Welker can’t unseat Arrenado.

No. 2: Luis Robert for Nick Senzel. Senzel won’t unseat Suarez. This is a trade for 2 injury prone, talented players. Our most pressing need is 3B/INF.

SUMMARY

I think these are reasonable moves that fit with the re-build. Not flashy but hopefully sane.
