Desert Dogs and Sox go down

Glendale fell behind early, and our prospects could not collect a hit

Everything is Gonna Be All Right: What goes up must come down — even Robert’s hit streak.

Scottsdale Scorpions 5, Glendale Desert Dogs 3

Luis Basabe (CF): 0-for-4, 0 BB, 1 K

Luis Robert (DH): 0-for-4, 0 BB, 1 K

Laz Rivera (SS): 0-for-3, 0 BB, 1 K, E

It was not just a tough day for the Glendale Desert Dogs, but for all White Sox involved. Off the bat, the Scorpions jumped to a two-run lead in the first inning. It would eventually grow to 5-1 by the end of the third, as Glendale’s starter was pulled.

The deficit was too large for the Dogs to scrape back, as they would wind up losing, 5-3. Their bullpen did a great job, throwing scoreless ball and only allowing two hits.

Meanwhile, the White Sox, not so good. Basabe, Robert, and Rivera combined to go 0-for-11, with three strikeouts.

In this ultimate small sample, Robert still seems to need work on off-speed pitches —shocking, right, with just 326 plate appearance in the White Sox organization. Robert’s 0-fer performance also meant the end to his 14 game hit streak.

That doesn’t mean we can’t watch this again, though!
