Michael Kopech went two innings, giving up two hits and striking out three in his previous spring start against the Oakland Athletics. Not only was his triple-digit fastball on display, the righthander also showcased an off-speed pitch he could get over the plate. Good luck, opposing hitters.
Ian Kennedy starts for the Royals. The 33-year-old had a 7.65 ERA in four starts against the Chicago White Sox last season.
Mike Moustakas is still a free agent. Bob Nightengale tweeted yesterday that the Sox are “staying in touch” with the former Royal. If the Sox were to sign Moose, Yolmer Sanchez would most likely be knocked out of the starting lineup and used as a utility player.
