The White Sox rebuild is so popular, it’s grabbing the attention of an NBA player

The Winston-Salem Dash announced Tuesday that NBA point guard Chris Paul is now a part-owner of the team.

Why? Well, Paul was born in Winston-Salem and is a graduate of Wake Forest University, so he’s familiar with the area.

His Houston Rockets are also first in the NBA’s Western Conference, so life’s going well for CP3.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to become involved with a successful organization that has a positive impact on the community,” Paul says. “What could be more fun than being part owner of a minor league baseball team in your hometown?”

Paul takes on a team that includes highly-touted prospects Luis Robert, Dylan Cease, Dane Dunning and Blake Rutherford, along with notables Micker Adolfo and Gavin Sheets.

If no other rich and famous basketball players from Kannapolis, Birmingham or Charlotte want to get involved in the White Sox, perhaps Paul at least can persuade teammate James Harden to get involved. Buy me some peanuts and Weird Beards ...
