If you were to sign Beck Hansen to a minor league deal, perhaps you would end up with more Alec Hansen and less Chris Beck?
Anyhow, the Chicago White Sox today announced that Miguel González has been diagnosed with “right rotator cuff inflammation,” aka Sit in the Corner for 10 Days and Think About What You’ve Done.
Carson Fulmer “moves up” a spot in the rotation — just three days after pitching 1 1⁄3 innings of relief vs. the Houston Astros — to take El Jalisciense’s start tonight.
González is 0-3 with a 12.41 ERA in 12 1⁄3 innings (three starts) this season.
Danny Farquhar has been transferred to the 60-day disabled list, and Beck arrives from Charlotte to gobble up some innings.
Beck has a 2.00 ERA and 13 strikeouts in nine innings and four games (two starts) with the Charlotte Knights. Opponents are hitting .129 against him. The righthander is 4-4 with a 6.38 ERA and 55 strikeouts in 96 innings/83 games (one start) over parts of the past three major-league seasons with the White Sox.
UPDATE on Danny Farquhar’s Condition
