Birmingham Barons 7, Biloxi Shuckers 3

Zack Collins (.146): 1-for-3, R, BB, K

Eloy Jimenez (.207): 2-for-5, 2 R, 2B, RBI

Seby Zavala (.328): 1-for-2, 2 R, HR (6), 2 RBI, 2 BB, passed ball

Matt Rose (.328): 3-for-4, 2 R, 2 HR, 2 BB, 4 RBI **MVP**

Bryant Flete (.292): 2-for-3, BB, three errors at SS

Dane Dunning (1-0, 4.50): 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 2 BB, 4 K, 57 GS, 90 pitches/61 strikes in first career AA start

A super sloppy game marked Dunning’s first start in AA, a win, as the Barons ended the game with seven unanswered runs. There were also seven errors between the two teams, and that doesn’t include a passed ball by Zavala.

Lynchburg Hillcats 7, Winston-Salem Dash 3

Luis Alexander Basabe (.321): 1-for-5, R, HR (3), 2 RBI, K **MVP**

Blake Rutherford (.349): 2-for-4, RBI, K, CS (4)

Micker Adolfo (.321): 0-for-4, 3 K

Gavin Sheets (.286): 0-for-2, 2 BB

Luis Martinez (0-1, 5.19): 5 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 3 BB, 2 K, 36 GS, 85 pitches/47 strikes

A terrible third inning did Dash starter Martinez in, as the Hillcats touched him for six runs. W-S struck out 14 times and walked just thrice.

Delmarva Shorebirds 4, Kannapolis Intimidators 3

Tyler Frost (.292): 0-for-5, 4 K

Craig Dedelow (.264): 2-for-4, R, 2 2B (6), K **MVP**

Carlos Perez (.308): 2-for-4, 2 2B, K

Kade McClure (2.48): 4 23 IP, 5 H, 2 R, K, HR, GS 44, 85 pitches/52 strikes

Jake Elliott (BS-1, 0-1, 1.59): 23 IP, 2 H, 2 R, K, HR

It’s a heartbreaker for Kanny, as the Intimidators weather a so-so start from McClure, only to see Elliott blow the save. Delmarva’s Zach Jarrett hit a two-out, two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to win the game for the Birds.
