- Carson Fulmer gets the start for the Chicago White Sox in Game One of today’s day-night doubleheader. Fulmer looked really good in his last outing against the Seattle Mariners, surrendering two runs on three hits and only one walk in six innings. His cutter has to be just as sharp this time out with the likes of left-handed power hitters Mike Moustakas and Lucas Duda in the lineup for the Royals.
- Trevor Oaks will make his major league debut for the Royals today. He is coming off three straight quality starts for the team’s Triple-A affiliate in Omaha. We all know how well the Sox fair against pitchers they’ve never seen before...but, hey, Matt Davidson is in the lineup.
- Davidson has hit seven home runs at Kauffman Stadium compared to the Royals’ eight. Jason Benetti and Steve Stone don’t believe it, I don’t believe it and Davidson himself doesn’t believe it. For all the years Nick Punto, Ryan Raburn and Brandon Inge torched the Sox, it’s nice seeing a Sox player demolish an opposing team’s pitching.
