Jacob May (.232): 2-for-3, K, SB (6), E (1), picked off first
Patrick Leonard (.259): 1-for-3, R, HR (4), RBI, 2 K
Jake Elmore (.232): 2-for-3, picked off second
L: T.J. House (1-4, 6.37): 5 1⁄3 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 46 GS, 97 pitches / 57 strikes
Colton Turner (6.75): 1 2⁄3 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, BB, K, HR
Thyago Vieira (6.00): IP, 2 K, 13 pitches / 9 strikes **MVP**
Someone put decaf in the Knights’s coffee pot before this 10:30 a.m. game at Coolray Field in Gwinnett, as the offense slept in and the pitching got fatigued by the fifth. Charlotte hitters struck out 10 times without walking. House was solid through four, but was knocked out of the box in the fifth; Turner could not put out the fire, as the Stripers hung a five-spot on the board. Vieira earns today’s MVP with a 13-pitch eighth, taming his control issues for a day with nine strikes.

L: Jake Johansen (0-1, 3.24): IP, 2 H, 3 ER, BB, 2 K
Ugly game in Alabama today, as the Barons were held to just four hits, while whiffing 13 times against just one walk. The game was tied at two heading into the seventh, when all hell broke loose. Johansen was wild, starting the inning K-HBP-PB-WP-RBI single, which gave the Wahoos a 3-2 lead they would only add to. Ryan Brett knocked his first homer of the year and Jiménez extended his hitting streak to 14 games (the streak of multihit games ended, at 10). When Matt Rose ended the eighth with a strikeout on a foul tip, Barons manager Ryan Newman and Rose himself were both ejected for howling in protest. Finally, reliever Jose Ruiz joins the Barons after a promotion from Winston-Salem.

L: Danny Dopico (0-2, 4.95): 4 1⁄3 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 47 GS, 70 pitches / 44 strikes
Another loss, another poor night of plate discipline for an affiliate: 10 strikeouts, two walks. Rutherford continued his recent power surge with a dinger, and Adolfo just keeps on base knocking.
Final from Greenville!

Holy crap did Battenfield pitch a ballgame, easily the best-pitched game this year in the White Sox organization: 92 game score! Rivera continues to mash. Kanny got all the runs they needed in the seventh, off an RBI triple by Cruz and a sacrifice fly from Nolan Brown.
