RHP Jordan Stephens turned in a quality start in his Triple-A debut, settling down after allowing two runs in the first inning to go another five scoreless frames. While Stephens technically took the loss, it was a run allowed by Thyago Vieira in the eighth inning that proved to be the difference, after C Kevan Smith’s pinch-hit RBI single in the top of the ninth inning pulled the Knights within one. CF Jacob May’s RBI double got Charlotte on the board for the first time, in the eighth inning.

LHP Tanner Banks hurled seven shutout innings and RHP Matt Foster closed the door for a Dash victory on Wednesday. Winston-Salem only plated runs in one inning, posting two in the fifth, but that proved to be enough. The lower third of the Dash lineup did all the damage, posting five of the team’s six hits with SS Ti’Quan Forbes leading the way with a triple, double, RBI and run scored. 3B Zach Remillard produced his fifth multi-hit effort in his last seven games.
