Last night’s game was another tough one to swallow. Tip of the hat to James Shields, though.

  • Lucas Giolito gets the start for the White Sox today. He’s coming off one of his better starts of the season, but it still wasn’t great. Giolito pitched 5 23 innings, giving up five hits, two earned runs and two walks. He can’t afford to walk players in this potent St. Louis Cardinals lineup.
  • Carlos Martinez gets the start for the Cardinals. He’s the type of player I want Reynaldo Lopez to become. Martinez has nasty stuff, a high-velo fastball and the ability to go late into games. He’ll be quite the test for the Sox today.
