Let’s call it progress.
Our very first roster vote, early last month, named Reynaldo López the most important player on the Chicago White Sox roster. It took four votes for you guys to confound me this time around.
Indeed, Dane Dunning has been voted the fourth Most Essential White Sox player!
Dunning took 26% (70 of 272 ballots) in a tight contest, making a leap from 1% of support to 26% in just one vote! He is also, now, regarded as the most important piece of the delicious Adam Eaton trade with the Washington Nationals, over Lucas Giolito and López.
Earlier this season, Dunning was voted as the sixth most important White Sox prospect, garnering a potent 68% of the second vote! Thus, with two months of 2018 work on the farm, Dunning has leapfrogged Luis Robert, Alec Hansen and Dylan Cease among White Sox prospects, and left all rostered players but Yoán Moncada in the dust.
With Dunning advancing, Jake Burger is added to the ballot.
