- Reynaldo Lopez gets the start for the White Sox today. He has allowed two runs or fewer in six of his last nine outings. He is the team leader in WAR, which I guess doesn’t say a whole lot, but he’s posted a 1.7 WAR per Baseball Reference. That’s pretty good. Lopez also ranks 10th in the American League in ERA (2.98).
- Corey Kluber gets the start for the Cleveland Indians. The thought of Omar Narvaez, Adam Engel and Trayce Thompson facing one of the top arms in the league today certainly isn’t a pleasant one. Kluber is 7-2 with a 2.17 ERA. He’s walked just one, yes one batter in May. I admittedly love watching him pitch because of his demeanor on the mound. Nothing gets him too pumped, and he always seems in control. This will be the toughest opposing pitcher the Sox have faced since the Astros series.
