Last time around, Fanpost Friday fell flat. A few stories, in comments. No Fanposts.
But since the guy at the top of the masthead wrote up something yesterday, I think that means we need to give it another try.
On the occasion of Tom “Wimpy” Paciorek joining the broadcast crew for this weekend’s games, Brett wrote a strange tale of interstate travel, homemade hobo signs and ultimate, nationwide acknowledgement from Wimpy back in the early 1990s.
So, the question today is: Do you have a similar story? Maybe you sat out in the old Comiskey bleachers with Harry Caray. Perhaps Chuck Garfien interviewed you at the park. Did Don Drysdale buy you a drink? Did Jason Benetti challenge you to a round of Ms. Pac Man?
You know the drill: click on Fanposts on the banner above, and start typing. Doesn’t have to be fancy, or long, or illustrated. Just tell your story.
Sneezing your story out in the comments below defeats the purpose of a Fanpost Friday. If we write enough of these things, SB Nation sends Brett back to the Mickey Owen Baseball Camp in Miller, Mo., where he can hone his switch-hitting skills and lose about 15 pounds of water weight a day. He’ll come back a better man, or so he tells me.
