Today was not a good day for TJ House. He only recorded six outs and allowed seven base runners, with five scoring. Charlotte was down most of the game, 6-1 — until the last three innings. Charlotte added runs on Jake Elmore and Mason Robbins RBI singles. But the big blows came in the bottom of the ninth with the Knights down, 6-3. Robbins hit a two-RBI double to make it a one-run game. Down to the last out of the game, Casey Gillaspie clobbered a game-winning, three-run homer to take the game, 8-6. Thanks to the bullpen, the Knights offense had a chance to come back; the pen only allowed one run on three hits, and recorded six strikeouts in seven innings.

Dane Dunning: 6 2⁄3 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K **MVP**
Not much offense in this one, but the Barons still win to stave off first-half playoff elimination for another day. Only four Barons batters were able to garner a hit in this contest, with Bryant Flete and Ryan Brett adding two each. Flete provided most of the offense in just the fifth inning, hitting a two-run shot to give the Barons a 2-0 lead. Dane Dunning had another phenomenal start. He only allowed seven runners on base in 6 2⁄3 innings pitched and lowered his ERA to 3.22. Dunning now has seven outings allowing three runs or less since joining Birmingham.
