Today’s news roundup:
Leury García, disabled since May 24, begins his rehab assignment in Charlotte tonight.
Miguel González, who most recent White Sox impact was in being the guy Yolmer Sánchez hit in the nads with his glove during a postgame victory high-five line, threw a 25-pitch simulated game today. He’ll do the same in Cleveland next week and squeeze a bullpen session in, before starting a minor-league rehab assignment.
Alec Hansen returns, after working through the forearm discomfort that cut his spring training short, starting for the Birmingham Barons. Danny Dopico was sent back down to Winston-Salem to make room for Hansen.
