Gamethread: White Sox at Indians

Let’s not commit three errors in the first three innings. Whadaya say?

Yet another matchup against the Cleveland Indians tonight...

  • Carlos Rodon gets the start for the White Sox tonight. Rodon wasn’t too sharp in his last outing against the Indians. He went five innings, but walked three and gave up two earned runs on 100 pitches. Being more efficient with that pitch count would be great for Rodon against a tough Indians lineup.
  • Mike Clevinger gets the start for the Indians. Clevinger has gone 13 23 innings in two starts against the White Sox this season. He’s added 18 strikeouts against the South Siders and has really looked good. Much like Dylan Covey struggling in his third start against the Indians last night, I expect Clevinger to not have the same success. But who knows, facing Adam Engel certainly works in Clevinger’s favor.
  • Here’s a fun stat for you...the Sox are hitting .213 with 29 runs scored over their last 10 road games. Okay, not too fun.
  • But this, however, is fun. Jose Abreu continues to lead the All-Star vote for AL first basemen. Give Jose a vote while you watch the game tonight. He deserves it — see below.
