Like yesterday, two players finished Round 30-31 tied for first, this time at 17%. Because we’re moving two players onto the essential list anyway, a tie is fine this time around.
So congratulations, Leury García and Charlie Tilson, you are the 30th and 31st most essential White Sox players!
Funny, Tilson wasn’t the one tied with García in yesterday’s voting; he came out of nowhere to actually win the vote outright today. But combining both totals from the last two days landed both players at 17% (27 of 155 total votes).
García was named the 14th most important roster member in our earlier voting, with 26% of the 14th vote. Tilson was named the 24th most important Sox prospect, with 40% of the 24th vote.
Repeating the two new wrinkles to voting:
- One is the write-in vote. Because the previous results (in the roster ranking and top prospects polls) feed this most essential poll, we tend to have a ballot that can be a bit stale. If there’s a player you feel has been overlooked so far in voting, write him in, in the comments below.
- The second wrinkle is a sort of relegation. From here on, any player getting zero votes in a poll will drop off the ballot for at least one round of voting before getting re-added.
Dylan Covey gets on the ballot as a write-in. With García and Tilson advancing, Ian Hamilton and Aaron Bummer are added to the ballot.
