Under Covey: Dylan Covey has been a pleasant surprise for the Sox this year, and will look to continue his success against the Rangers tonight.

  • Dylan Covey gets the start for the Sox tonight. Covey had to exit his last star on June 23 due to hip soreness. The right-hander has given up just two home runs in his 44 1⁄3 innings pitched. Yeah, that’s really good. He’s also already worth 0.8 WAR, good for fifth on the team. It’ll be nice to see Covey back out there for the South Siders tonight.
  • Yovani Gallardo (yes, Yovani Gallardo!) gets the start for the Rangers. I honestly had no idea this guy still existed. He had a 12.08 ERA in two starts this season. Gallardo holds a 4.79 career ERA against the Sox. Time to feast, boys!
