Leading off: Barons OF Eloy Jimenez was named Southern League Player of the Month for May. You can see his ridiculous stats for the month in the tweet above. In addition, Matthew Tomshaw was named Southern League Pitcher of the Week for May 28-June 3, in which Tomshaw had two quality starts (including a complete-game victory) with 16 innings pitched, allowing one earned run on eight hits, with one walk and 12 strikeouts.

Knights OF Jacob May claimed an award as well, winning International League Batter of the Week.

Also, a few roster moves on the farm: RHP Cameron Seitzer skips Winston-Salem and gets promoted to the Barons from Kannapolis, while the Knights activated LHP Colton Turner from the disabled list and demoted him to Birmingham. Birmingham also placed LHP Ian Clarkin on the 7-day DL retroactive to June 1. The White Sox also optioned both INF Matt Skole and C Alfredo Gonzalez back to Triple-A Charlotte, with C Kevan Smith promoted to the White Sox and Juan Minaya covering the White Sox as its 26th man for Tuesday’s doubleheader at the Minnesota Twins.
