The season itself was horrible, but let’s roll out one of the greatest highlights in White Sox history on the ninth anniversary of the deed:

I’m sure one exists, but given the gravity of the situation, coming in cold off the bench, and distance — sprinting distance — covered to make the catch, I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a better defensive play. Only today I noticed that the White Sox had commemorated Dewayne Wise’s catch with a marking above the Billy Pierce portrait:
Avisaíl García is sick, so he was scratched from tonight’s lineup. Leury García starts in his stead. Here’s what Ricky Renteria is rolling out (Lucas Giolito starts):
REVISED LINEUP:

Moncada 2B
Sánchez 3B
Abreu 1B
Palka LF
Davidson DH
L. García RF
Anderson SS
Smith C
Engel CF
It’s been two weeks since it last happened, but a loss tonight puts the White Sox a season-worst 31 games below .500.
On the Angels side:
Jaime Barria gets the call for tonight's opener against the White Sox as @PujolsFive returns from the DL.
