Weird story broke today, that 15-year-old Miguel Tejada Jr. tested positive for Stanozolol, a steroid, which is the reason the White Sox didn’t sign him. The White Sox were indeed the favorites to ink him, and backed out after the test.
So, we get Yoán Moncada batting lefty and leading off tonight, on the heels of last night’s bases-clearing triple in the 12th, which became the game-winner. José Abreu is back in the lineup and playing first, and apparently Ricky Renteria is insisting that if Abreu wants back in the lineup, he has to wear a shin guard to the plate.
Dylan Covey attempts to shake the SSS cover jinx with his start.

Some sort of thanks for a miraculous near-catch in the 12th last night: Brandon Dixon was sent down to Louisville as part of Cincinnati’s desperate effort to import more arms in the bullpen to get through tonight’s game.
