Charlie Tilson: 2-for-5, 1 R, 3 RBI, 0 BB, 2 K
Ryan Cordell: 1-for-5, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 0 K
Eloy Jimenez: 1-for-5, 0 BB, 0 K
Jose Rondon: 2-for-4, 1 HR, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K
Seby Zavala: 3-for-5, 2 R, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 0 K
Jordan Guerrero: 6 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 7 K **MVP**
Caleb Frare: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Ryan Burr: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 B, 1 K
This was a complete team win for Charlotte. The Knights had 14 runners on base, and eight of the nine batters in the lineup reached base. Rondón had the big hit with a solo homer (his 16th in Charlotte), but that was after a five-run second inning. Tilson and Zavala helped drive in half of the Knights runs with five combined hits. Zavala added his fifth double with the Knights. Jiménez also added a hit, his 10th double. Meanwhile, Guerrero threw a quality start, with a 63 game score. Frare had a dominant inning, throwing 11 of 12 pitches for strikes, and Burr closed out the game with another scoreless outing to keep his ERA at zero.
Birmingham Barons 18, Montgomery Biscuits 2
Seven home runs by the @BhamBarons tonight ties a Southern League single game record.
— The Southern League (@SLeagueBaseball) August 11, 2018
First time a team has hit 7 HR in a single game since Jacksonville 6/4/2010 vs Carolina
Luis Basabe: 1-for-4, 1 HR, 2 R, 2 BB, 1 K
Joel Booker: 3-for-5, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB
Zack Collins: 3-for-6, 2 HR, 6 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K **MVP**
Alex Call: 1-for-2, 4 R, 3 BB, 0 K
Dylan Cease: 5 2⁄3 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 5 BB, 6 K
Ian Clarkin: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 0 K
Do not mess with Birmingham — they will crush you. In total, the Barons hit seven home runs, including two by Collins, and they were not an ordinary two. Both home runs, including a grand slam, came in a 10-run ninth inning to stretch Birmingham’s run total to 18. Basabe also added a home run, leading off the game, for his only hit. The best thing from the game is that Cease did not have his stuff and still only allowed one run. He walked five batters in five-plus innings of work, but only allowed two hits. However, the Barons offense definitely did not need even an adequate pitching performance to ensure their win.
Winston-Salem Dash 5, Potomac Nationals 4
For the 2⃣nd straight game, @Luis5Gonzalez hit a that proved to be a difference.

Here's the homer that downed Potomac on Friday night.

Luis Robert: 0-for-3, 2 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB
Luis Gonzalez: 1-for-4, 1 HR, 0 BB, 1 K
Nick Madrigal: 1-for-2, 2 R, 1 BB, 0 K
Blake Rutherford: 1-for-3, 1 BB, 1 K
Gavin Sheets: 1-for-3, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K
Laz Rivera: 0-for-3, 0 BB, 0 K
Blake Battenfield: 7 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 4 K **MVP**
Tyler Johnson: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Do not let the Dash get to their bullpen with the lead, because you will lose. W-S was able to get a one-run lead by the third inning, and then took another lead in the seventh. Gonzalez hit a solo home run to take the second, and lasting, 5-4 lead in the seventh. Meanwhile, Madrigal and Robert scored the other four runs, in the first and third innings; Madrigal did not strike out, and also added a double. Battenfield added another quality start to his repertoire, but the bullpen really stole the day. Hunter Schryver and Johnson threw one shutout inning apiece to keep and close out the victory.
Lexington Legends 4, Kannapolis Intimidators 2
Today's final. We'll be back at it tomorrow! pic.twitter.com/CgatWaHURQ
— Kannapolis Intimidators (@Intimidators) August 11, 2018
Ian Dawkins: 1-for-3, 1 HR, 1 BB, 0 K **MVP**
Luis Curbelo: 1-for-4, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K
Steele Walker: 1-for-4, 0 BB, 0 K
Ramon Beltre: 0-for-3, 0 BB, 2 K
Zach Lewis: 4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
Andrew Perez: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 0 K
It was a day Lewis and the I’s defense will want to forget. Lewis allowed eight baserunners, but only two of his four runs were earned. Third baseman Johan Cruz had two errors that accounted for the other two runs. Lewis was on a successful run of starts, but that’s over, as his control wavered. Perez was able to come in and keep the game close, with two shutout innings, but the I’s could not come back. Dawkins led off the game with a solo home run, but the lead disappeared in the third inning. It was Dawkins’ first homer in Kannapolis.
Great Falls Voyagers 12, Idaho Falls Chukars 7
HECK YES! A five-run 8th for the @gfvoyagers to break the tie. They lead it 12-7 going T9. pic.twitter.com/fO8fmCK8jA
— Great Falls Voyagers (@gfvoyagers) August 11, 2018
Romy Gonzalez: 1-for-4, 2 R, 1 BB, 2 K
Lenyn Sosa: 4-for-5, 2 R, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 0 K **MVP**
Bryce Bush: 1-for-5, 0 BB, 0 K
Logan Sowers: 1-for-4, 1 R, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K
Codi Heuer: 3 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K
Heuer did not have the best day on the mound, but the Voyagers were able to come back and take the win. Great Falls was led by Sosa and Amado Nunez, who collected seven hits between them. Micah Coffey, who has not been hitting well, hit a home run that jump-started Great Falls, as they scored 11 runs in the last three innings to win. Bush also added a hit, but he has been cooling since his promotion.
AZL White Sox 6, AZL Indians 5 (10)
Camilo Quinteiro: 1-for-5, 1 R, 0 BB, 2 K
Lency Delgado: 2-for-4, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 2 K **MVP**
Luis Mieses: 1-for-4, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K
Yordi Rosario: 5 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
Zack Burdi: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K
Burdi is back, but still cannot find his groove, as he allowed two hits and a run in one inning. Meanwhile he and Rosario gave away an early 3-1 lead. It was not until the 10th inning that the AZL Sox would take another lead, and that was accomplished mostly with substitutes. Delgado is starting to get used to professional hitting, as his average has risen to .243, but his weak start is still hanging over him. However, thanks to a three-run 10th, AZL Sox came out on top.
Sidney Pimentel: 3-for-6, 1 HR, 3 R, 3 RBI, 0 BB, 2 K **MVP**
Harold Diaz: 1-for-3, 1 R, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K
Jose Rodriguez: 2-for-5, 1 R, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 2 K
Cristofer Melendez: 4 2⁄3 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K
Well then, the 15-win DSL White Sox certainly added a dominant effort to their total. Melendez set the tone with a successful, short outing, but the offense stole the show. The Sox had 20 hits and two walks, as every starter recorded a hit. Pimental and Jorgen Rosas led the way, with seven hits between them. Pimentel added power, with three extra-base hits, two doubles and a homer. The home run was in the sixth inning, after the DSL Sox already had a healthy lead, which is very odd for the beleaguered club.
