- Even with last night’s win, the Sox are 2-9 against the Detroit Tigers this season. The Sox have been outscored 54-42 in those games.
- Carlos Rodon gets the start for the White Sox today. Rodon has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the league since coming back from a shoulder injury in June. He has posted a 1.27 ERA since July 1, and what is most encouraging is his high-velocity fastball. He’s certainly been the best story of the 2018 White Sox, so let’s hope he keeps that trend going today.
- Jordan Zimmerman gets the start for the Tigers. Zimmerman earned his fifth win of the season on Friday against the Minnesota Twins, but has struggled historically against the White Sox. He has a 5.70 career ERA against the Sox, who have scored nine earned runs in 9 1⁄3 innings off Zimmerman this season.
- Also, if you didn’t see this moment from last night, I highly recommend you watch this. This wasn’t surprising to me at all. My friends and I had nothing but a great experience at Comerica Park. Good park, good food and even better fans. Super nice people who are knowledgeable about the game. Glad Jason Benetti and Tom Paciorek could capture this interaction (all this happening while their team was down three runs, too!).

Lineups:
Carlos Rodón ranks second in the major leagues with a 0.98 ERA (4 ER/36.2 IP) in five starts since 7/11, and has not allowed an earned run in 14.0 IP over his last two outings.
