White Sox manager Rick Renteria will miss today’s game at Detroit. He is back in Chicago and in good spirits. Renteria continues to be evaluated for lightheadedness. Bench coach Joe McEwing will serve as the manager this afternoon.

It’s like a flashback to having to play in a dump like Wrigley, with two straight day games. But with one win in pocket, let’s see how Ricky’s Joey’s Boys fare in Motown, against “Matthew Boyd.”
But first, bling:

On the strength of spanking his first career dinger out, at his hometown park to boot, that devilishly handsome dirtbag grinder Ryan LaMarre gets the start in left, batting second.
Remember when it was hilarious that brief call-up middle infielder José Rondón batted cleanup and/or DH for the White Sox, back when they were free-falling to 30 under .500? Well, with José Abreu out of the lineup, Rondón (18 homers at Triple-A, three with the Sox) is Chicago’s home run leader, so DH/batting fifth it is.
Today's #WhiteSox starters.

And the other guys. You might want to focus on that guy hitting third, he’s been a bit troublesome for the South Siders this season:
