The Chicago White Sox are hot as they go into tonight’s game, winning 10 of their last 13 and four in a row.
James Shields looks to bounce back after his last outing in Detroit was not so hot, giving up seven earned runs in 6 ⅔ innings. Shields gave up the long ball three times in Detroit despite the Tigers being ranked last in baseball in home runs.
Lance Lynn takes the mound for his fifth start in a New York Yankees uniform. It’s an even pitching matchup in the Bronx tonight, with Shields sitting at a 4.59 ERA and Lynn at 4.84.
James Shields is ranked No. 6 in home runs allowed so far this season. While the Yankees are the No. 1 home run-hitting team in the game. The good news is that they are without some of their power hitters, including Aaron Judge, Didi Gregorious and Gary Sanchez. Hopefully that will be to Shields’s advantage tonight.
Starting lineups:
The #WhiteSox have won a season-high tying four straight games, 10 of their last 13 and 15 of 24 as they continue a seven-game trip tonight at Yankee Stadium.
