  • The Sox are going for their first three-game series sweep since Aug. 8-10 of last season vs. Houston and first on the road since April 25-27 of 2016 at Toronto.
  • James Shields gets the start for the Sox today. He went deep into a game once again his last time out, throwing seven innings and giving up four earned runs against the Kansas City Royals.   • Hunter Wood gets the start for the Rays. He’s started only four games this season, but has done pretty well, holding a 1.35 ERA in those starts. Out of the bullpen — his normal role — he has a 3.86 ERA. It will most likely be another one of Kevin Cash’s “bullpen days” for the Rays today.
