That wasn’t a fun one last night. Let’s see if Ricky’s Boys can turn it around tonight.
- Reynaldo Lopez gets the start for the Sox tonight. Lopey finally turned in a solid performance in his last outing against the Royals. He threw 7+ innings of two-run ball, issuing two walks and striking out four. Missing bats and striking more people out is the key for Lopez (and really any pitcher). His hard-hit percentage is up almost six points from last year. The fly ball rate is also up, which is something that will eventually have to change for him to be productive.
- CC Sabathia gets the ball for the Yankees. Sabathia threw just three innings in his last outing against the Boston Red Sox, laboring through 77 pitches to go along with four walks. He hasn’t gone six innings into a game since July 4, but if Lance Lynn can throw 7 1⁄3 against the Sox, you know CC has a chance to do the same.
- Here’s the White Sox lineup the first time they faced Sabathia, thanks to our friend @SoxNerd.
And here’s their 2018 lineup tonight — no Buehrle, Konerko or Mags — sorry :(
