The Crosstown Classic is back in action this weekend. How amazing would it be if the White Sox swept the Cubs? That’s my high hope for this weekend’s series.
Reynaldo López takes the bump for the White Sox today, and as of late López has been phenomenal. For the season, López’s ERA is at 4.05. In his last four starts, he has only allowed two earned runs, posting a 0.67 ERA. Let’s hope that his dominance carries over to today’s start.
Meanwhile, José Quintana is making his first start at Guaranteed Rate Field since he was traded to the Chicago Cubs. Quintana for the season has a 3.95 ERA, and in his last seven starts sits at a 2.97 ERA.
I look forward to today’s matchup. I am eager to see Q’s first start at the G-Rate since the trade. Quintana and López both have been hot and cold this season, so I’m excited to see how the game goes for each of them.
Today’s lineups:
Reynaldo López is 2-0 with a 0.67 ERA (2 ER/27.0 IP), 0.78 WHIP, .160 opp. average and 28 strikeouts in his last four starts.
