Glendale Desert Dogs 4, Mesa Solar Sox 3
Blake Rutherford (lf) 1-for-4, 2B (3), R (.200 BA, .720 OPS)
Micker Adolfo (rf) 0-for-4, 3 K (.171 BA, .667 OPS)
Gavin Sheets (1b) 1-for-4, 3 K (.222 BA, .572 OPS)
Bernardo Flores (SP) 4 ⅓ IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 5 K, HR, 74 pitches/52 strikes (6.62 ERA)
Another win for the HOT D-Dogs (OK, 2-0 out of the Fall Stars break), but not a lot of representing from the White Sox delegation.
Really, it was just the Rutherford show again today, with a decent day at the plate (double, no Ks) pulling his average back to .200. It was also, possibly, his first game batting leadoff for the Desert Dogs.
Otherwise ... yuck.
Flores was adequate in his start, but couldn’t stretch to five innings, needing 74 pitches to record 13 outs. Here’s two of his strikeouts, however:

Unfortunately, Adolfo and Sheets were outright awful, with six of Glendale’s nine whiffs on the day.
