A sweep of the Scottsdale series over the weekend qualifies as a big accomplishment for the eliminated Desert Dogs. As of Sunday evening, Glendale is just a half-game behind the Mesa Solar Sox for worst record in the AFL, although the Desert Dogs are still the only Fall League team eliminated from playoff competition.

Today, it was just Sheets contributing to the win, batting cleanup and pushing home the fourth run of the game as part of a five-run fifth inning — with a bases-loaded walk. Later in the game, Sheets singled, helping swell that stat line.

The season ends this week, with just four games remaining. Glendale takes on Salt River tomorrow night.
