SB Nation FanPulse: White Sox fans like the job Rick Renteria is doing as manager

He may bunt a bit too much and arbitrarily bench non-hustlers, but the man makes a mean ceviche

Welcome to SB Nation FanPulse, a survey of fans across MLB. Each week, we send 30 polls to plugged in fans from each team. White Sox fans, sign up HERE to join FanPulse.

Chicago fans were asked this week if they approve of the job manager Ricky Renteria is doing as the White Sox try to erase the taste of a 100-loss season.

It seems that most of you are sympathetic to the AAAA talent Renteria has been handed since taking the helm of the White Sox in 2017. The metrics say that Renteria’s managerial WAR (mWAR) of -6.0 in his career (-3.0 per 162 games) is the second-worst in team history, so the head man won’t be able to use the low-talent excuse forever ...

White Sox fans were also asked two other questions in Week 1 of SB Nation’s FanPulse survey:

• Are you confident in the direction of the team: 62% Yes

• Will your team win the World Series: 9% Yes

Rick Hahn may not like anonymous Twitter tough guys, but he ought to be fond of the FanPulse electorate, who have chosen to buy-in on the rebuild at almost a two-out-of-three margin. Perhaps it’s time for one of those unannounced contract extensions, Jerry.

And listen, no one loves the South Side Sox populace more than your headstrong jefe, but 9% of you guys opted for the ceviche with hallucinogens. Bless each and every one of your big hearts and oversized hopes.

Where are you on these questions? If you didn’t participate in the FanPulse survey this week, hey man, get with the program, and sign up above or HERE. All the cool kids are doing it.
