Questions For The Serious Sox Fan

As a Sox fan, I know that this team has given us enjoyment over the years. But, let’s face it. Nowhere near enough success and enjoyment as this franchise should have. Too many losing seasons.

This makes you wonder. What is it about this team that makes us keep coming back? In effect, why are you a Sox fan? What are the reasons you became a Sox fan?

Here are a few possible reasons. "I became a Sox fan because..."

My father...mother...grandfather...uncle...somebody in my family got me into the White Sox.

Because they’re not the Cubs...or...I hate the Cubs.

Because they actually won the World Series in 2005. Even if ESPN forgets that ever happened.

Because they won the Pennant in 1959.

Little Louie and Foxy in the 1960's.

Frank Thomas.

Because I like the owner (no, just kidding...)

Because everybody else in my neighborhood was a Sox fan.

Because I liked... Bob Elson... Jack Drees... Harry Caray... (no Brickhouse here because he was a notorious Cub fan).

Because I keep hoping that one day, the Sox will rule Chicago.

So, did you ever think about why you became a fan of the Sox?
