It’s a beautiful day for my very first gamethread and recap of the season (now baseball has officially begun). Whether, for you, today is Easter, Passover, or The Day the Bunny Brings Chocolate, I hope you are spending it outside, with the White Sox on the radio.
All eyes (or ears, if you’re taking my advice) will be on Tim Anderson’s return from his one-game suspension. In an ideal world, he hits four home runs and flips his bat after all of them.
Before the game starts, read this terrific oral history that Michele Steele of ESPN put together about Danny Farquhar’s brain aneurysm, which happened one year ago yesterday. Rising from the dead, indeed.
Also, on this day in 2012, Philip Humber threw a perfect game, proving that baseball is mercurial, weird, wonderful, and often completely random.

Today’s White Sox lineup is better than the average “who are these guys??” card they usually trot out on Sundays; I suppose we have the rainout to thank for that. Timmy’s in the two spot.

And the Detroit Tigers have these guys. Gordon Beckham hits seventh.
