Danny Mendick: 0-for-4, 1 BB, 0 K (.270 BA, .804 OPS)
Daniel Palka: 0-for-4, 0 BB, 2 K (.287 BA, 1.027 OPS)
Zack Collins: 1-for-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 K (.255 BA, .917 OPS)
Ryan Goins: 2-for-3, 2 RBI, 1 BB, 1 K **MVP** (.333 BA, .969 OPS)
Dylan Cease: 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 4 BB, 7 K (3.38 ERA, 1.38 WHIP)
Carson Fulmer: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 2 K (2.45 ERA, 1.36 WHIP)
What a day for White Sox MiLB pitching, starting with Dylan Cease, who got some run support early. After a scoreless first inning, Ryan Goins drove in two runners, Zack Collins and Paulo Orlando. As the game went on, Cease would play in traffic, as his pitch count passed 100 by the sixth inning because of command issues. Cease walked four batters, while throwing 40 of his 102 pitches for a ball. On the bright side, he only allowed one run, even without anything near his best stuff, and left with a one-run lead. The bullpen led the way for the last three innings. Carson Fulmer threw two shutout innings, but had his usual command struggles creep up. Connor Walsh got through the ninth inning to close out the 3-1 win.

Luis Robert: 1-for-4, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K (.271 BA, .838 OPS)
Luis Basabe: 2-for-4, 1 R, 2 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K **MVP** (.222 BA, .564 OPS)
Luis Gonzalez: 1-for-4, 0 BB, 2 K (.227 BA, .599 OPS)
Gavin Sheets: 1-for-3, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K (.247 BA, .633 OPS)
Blake Rutherford: 0-for-4, 0 BB, 2 K (.178 BA, .507 OPS)
Laz Rivera: 2-for-4, 1 R, 0 BB, 1 K (.228 BA, .565 OPS)
Jimmy Lambert: 4 1⁄3 IP, 7 H, 6 ER, 3 BB, 5 K (4.04 ERA, 1.49 WHIP)
Hunter Schryver: 1 2⁄3 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K (1.17 ERA, 1.04 WHIP)
Alec Hansen: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K (1.50 ERA, 1.67 WHIP)
Yes, what a day for pitching. But not every hurler can be on top of their games, and unfortunately, Jimmy Lambert was not. Three quick runs came in the first three innings against Lambert and the Barons. One was off of a single and the other two came in on a home run, and just like that, the Barons were down by three. But the Barons bats were kind enough to close that gap.
Gavin Sheets struck first, with a sacrifice fly in the fourth. In the fifth, Luis Basabe continued his recent success with a single that drove in two runners. In the space of just two innings, the Barons and Lookouts were tied at three. But it didn’t last long at all.
In the sixth, Lambert allowed three more runs, and that was it for him and the Barons. The offense was blanked the rest of the way, but at least the Barons bullpen did well, as Hunter Schryver and Alec Hansen had shutout performances. Full disclosure: Hansen’s control wasn’t there: Though he only walked one, he threw more balls than strikes, ending what was an overall dreary game.
Winston-Salem Dash 4, Fayetteville Woodpeckers 3
New day, same result!

For the second straight day, @Zachyflat7 hits a walk-off single in the 10th to lift us to a 4-3 win over Fayetteville.

Nick Madrigal: 0-for-2, 3 BB, 0 K, 3 SB (.261 BA, .696 OPS)
Evan Skoug: 2-for-4, 1 HR, 2 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K **MVP** (.182 BA, .763 OPS)
John Parke: 6 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 2 K (3.73 ERA, 1.40 WHIP)
The Dash dug a hole even more quickly than Lambert and the Barons did. John Parke allowed two runs in the first inning, and the Dash were not able to climb out right away. Parke did settle down after the first, as he left with a quality start after six innings.
Evan Skoug did provide a little bit of offense by himself, first with a solo homer to provide the first W-S run, then an RBI single in the seventh that drew the Dash to within 3-2. On the next at-bat, Tate Blackman scored on a fielder’s choice to tie the game 3-3.
Both bullpens shut things down for the rest of regulation, but the Dash broke the glass in the 10th. Zach Remillard, who has had multiple walk-offs in the past week, drove in Yeyson Yrizarri to win, 4-3. As an aside, Nick Madrigal walked three times and proceeded to steal three bases — a pretty good day without getting a hit.
Hagerstown Suns 5, Kannapolis Intimidators 1
Lenyn Sosa: 0-for-4, 0 BB, 1 K (.217 BA, .562 OPS)
Romy Gonzalez: 1-for-3, 1 RBI, 0 BB, 1 K **MVP** (.286 BA, .778 OPS)
Luis Curbelo: 0-for-4, 0 BB, 2 K (.191 BA, .571 OPS)
Gunnar Troutwine: 2-for-4, 0 BB, 0 K (.263 BA, .726 OPS)
Kade McClure: 6 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K (3.22 ERA, 1.27 WHIP)
Like Winston-Salem, Kannapolis and Kade McClure were down just after one inning. McClure saw five runs cross the plate in the first, but only two of them were earned. Luis Curbelo and Amado Nuñez were tabbed with errors that led to the other three runs. That was it for the I’s — yes, the first inning really doomed them. The I’s were only able to muster one run, thanks to the bat of Romy Gonzalez in the eighth. The other bright spot for Kannapolis was the pitching after the first. McClure threw five shutout innings before giving way to Wilber Perez, who had two shutout innings of his own.
