Yesterday’s atrocity finally ended and is in the past. To be honest, I’m not sure how Year of the Hamster found the strength to write the game recap for last night’s devastation.
But last night is now this afternoon, and it’s a good reminder that baseball is an everyday game. Although Saturday’s loss was absolutely miserable, it goes down as only one game in the standings. Let’s focus on evening the series today, while finishing the homestand at 6-3.
Last night, the White Sox optioned Carson Fulmer and José Ruiz to class AAA Charlotte. This morning, they called Caleb Frare back up, and Juan Minaya seeks his first look in the White Sox bullpen this season after a very rocky spring training.

And, yes, Jon Jay has been transferred to the 60-day injured list in order to create room on the 40-man roster for Minaya. Will we ever see Jay play a regular season game as a White Sox? I’m not so sure.
On the other hand, I am sure that it will be a bullpen day for the Sunday-’83-uniform-wearing-Sox. Dylan Covey will start the day on the mound; he holds a 0-1 record and a 6.75 ERA. Tim Anderson bats fifth, while Yolmer Sánchez returns to the starting lineup after becoming a father for the second time.

For the opposition, Rick Porcello is Boston’s starting pitcher. Porcello is 2-3 and has a 5.52 ERA. Their lineup has been daunting for the White Sox. J.D. Martinez, Rafael Devers, and Michael Chavis occupy the heart of the order.

I’m sporting my new favorite shirt for today’s game. The SSS/Breaking T “Stick Talk” design. Anderson, fresh off the Player of the Month for April, is my player to watch for today’s matinee game. He has had a hitless series so far, but I think that is about to change. It’s time for another signature bat flip!
Not saying our SSS/@breakingtco Tim Anderson joint was the final push @TimAnderson7 needed in winning Player of the Month for April.

But I'm not saying it wasn't, either.
