Gamethread: Astros at White Sox

In the series’ deciding game, Ross Detwiler is our man

The Chicago White Sox look to take the series today against the Houston Astros. Ross Detwiler takes the mound in an effort to shut down the Houston Astros. The White Sox have thrown two complete games against the Astros this year, so let’s get crazy, why not try to make it a third?

Detwiler in his last two starts has gone at least five innings, giving up two earned runs in each. If he can do something similar today it’ll give the offense a chance to win the game.

For Houston, it’s Wade Miley. Miley has been having a great year, with a 2.99 ERA. Over his last seven starts, he has been even better, with a 2.11 ERA. Hopefully the White Sox bats can get to Miley and secure the series against the first-place Astros.

Lineups:

Jon Jay and Tim Anderson are batting No. 1 and 2. Jay has a career average vs Miley of .500 and Anderson is at .667.

George Springer is leading off and in his career is 0-for-6 vs Detwiler.

Oh, and with the series split in Houston, a win today ensures the White Sox a winning record against the Astros this season ...
