- The Sox grabbed the first game of today’s doubleheader, taking it 5-3. Dylan Cease earned his second win, and Jose Abreu collected three hits.
- Hector Santiago gets the start tonight for the White Sox in the nightcap of the doubleheader. Santiago pitched for the New York Mets earlier this year in eight games. He recorded a 6.75 ERA to go along with five walks in eight innings pitched. He’s our old friend, though. Santiago pitched in 49 games last season for the Sox (as you can see by the Santiago-Kevan Smith picture above).
- The starting pitching won’t get much better for the Detroit Tigers tonight, either. Drew VerHagen (that’s a fun name to say) has an 11.66 ERA in 12 games and gets the start tonight. He has a 3.00 WHIP in his last seven games, so, please, White Sox, let’s tee off on him and take the doubleheader sweep.
