Hello, Gamethread! It’s been a little while! After a trip to St. Pete and a few Six Pack of Stats under my belt, it’s time to get back to hyping up a Chicago White Sox game!
The South Siders will finish their four-game series — as well as their seven-game roadtrip — against the Detroit Tigers during today’s afternoon ballgame.
The Good Guys will send Iván Nova to the mound. Nova is 6-9 with a 5.10 ERA and a 1.1 WAR. Super Nova is currently riding a two-win win streak in three starts; he plans to make it three wins for the Sox’s series-capturing third win of this Detroit series.
Tyler Alexander will take the hill for the Tigers, and he will make his second career start against the White Sox. On July 3, Alexander made his MLB debut against the Pale Hose back in Chicago. Alexander went five innings, and he gave up two runs on two solo homers for a no decision. In his very short major league career, Alexander is 0-2 with a 4.50 ERA and a 0.4 WAR.
The Good Guys plan to have some more Stick Talk against Tyler, as they will line up as follows:

Tim Anderson, the inspiration behind Stick Talk, bats second.
The Motor City will have their batters line up as seen below:

I’m not going to lie: it’s nice not seeing Nick Castellanos in the lineup, but I don’t want him on the North Side either. However, Miguel Cabrera is still the resident of the third spot in the order as a DH. Brandon Dixon follows as he will bat fourth while playing first base.
It’s a 12:10 CT game time this lovely afternoon. The OG WGN has the broadcast and the radio. It’s been a bit since the sunglasses have made an appearance in the game recap, and it’s been a bit since the Good Guys have won back-to-back series. Let’s hope that it changes today!
