Who Is The Sox’s Phil Jackson?

The young Chicago Bulls years ago were elevated by the coaching of Doug Collins. They went from a sorry state to respectable. But it took a Zenmaster to get them to the Promised Land. And again. And again. And...

The young Chicago White Sox have been elevated by the managing of Rick Renteria who took them also from a sorry state to being respectable. But he hit his upper limit, and would not take the Sox to South Side Heaven.

The Sox have a chance to make a generational hire like the Bulls did with Jackson. The new Sox manager will need a little bit of Zen in him to relate to and bring out the best in the young Sox core just like the Bull’s Zenmaster did.

Please, South Side Ball Club. Don’t fumble this hire. Don’t play it safe. The Bulls went for broke at the time of the Jackson hire and took a largely unknown coach because they had the guts to go all in and take a risk on a guy they had a good feeling about. They didn’t hire some in-house guy or warmed over veteran coach who was just a chair warmer.

White Sox, embrace your Inner Zen:

Live in the Now. Not the past.

Follow your Heart. Align with a purpose... Success in life and on the field.

Let go. Of the past. Of past failures. Of your fear of making a bad choice.

Get into The Flow. Find your Sweet Spot.

Get someone who has the youthful enthusiasm that the young Sox have. Guys like Jimenez and Anderson and Robert... and Engle.

And finally... talk with Dylan Cease. He knows about this stuff.
