2020 South Side Sox Prospect Vote: Round 38

New, 7 comments

Vote for the 38th-best prospect in the White Sox system!

Not buying it: Lenyn Sosa seems a little dubious over his placement in the Prospect Vote.
Tiffany Wintz/South Side Sox

Three years in, we finally have our act together enough to kick off our prospect vote so the end doesn’t run into the regular season.

Here’s how 2018 wrangled out — all 42 picks. Also, here’s an archive of every article in the 2018 series. Here’s how 2019 came together, all 50 picks, and the archive as well.

There are some cursory stats attached to help you out in your decision-making, but all the great bio writing from WSM you’re used to seeing here is over at South Side Hit Pen, as we count down the Top 100 White Sox Prospects over there.

By starting our vote here and the Top 100 countdown at SSHP at the same time, by the time the SSHP Top 100 has counted from 100 to 50, this SSS poll vote will have counted down from 1 to 50. We’ll meet in the middle, with the SSS poll vote factoring in the order of our final 50 prospects.

Sound cool? Now, get voting!

Finally, Lenyn Sosa moves on, on his 27th try, getting 26% (32 of 122 votes). A year ago, Sosa finished 30th on our list, and in 2018 he was 39th. (We weren’t sold on the youngster last year, either, as he was voted the 33rd prospect but ended up at No. 30 on our final ranking.)

Sosa is is the third shortstop among our first 37 picks:

Last year’s No. 37 prospect was Camilo Quinteiro.

Shortstop Zach Remillard had a rough start in the poll, finishing tied for last, with two votes. Next round is shaping up as a three-way battle between Kade McClure, Bryan Ramos and Avery Weems. Jacob Lindgren and Kodi Medeiros remain tied for the second straight poll, again with an identical six votes — so 12 voters out there are very convicted.
