Danny Mendick, who seeks to play all over the diamond in hopes of solidifying a multi-position utility role — at the very least — with the big club, starts at third base today and hits second.

Also of note, yesterday’s ninth inning heroes are active today, as Adam Engel leads off and plays right field (!) and Seby Zavala catches, batting sixth.

Matt Tomshaw is on the mound, hoping to erase a rough first appearance this spring.

No TV or radio today, so feel free to set up alternate-gameplay timelines that generate a 10-run first inning for the White Sox, or a shortage of peanuts at Surprise Stadium, or whatever. Otherwise, we’ll have to rely on Ano, steely and louie to get us through this one, too.
