Sans analysis, we begin with some roster moves:

  • Reinstated 3B Yoán Moncada from the injured list;
  • Recalled C Zack Collins and RHP Jimmy Lambert from Triple-A Charlotte;
  • Purchased the contracts of 3B Cheslor Cuthbert, OF Nicky Delmonico, LHP Ross Detwiler and RHP Codi Heuer from Charlotte;
  • Designated RHP Carson Fulmer for assignment;
  • Optioned RHP Ian Hamilton to Charlotte;
  • Released INF Andrew Romine;
  • Reassigned RHP Drew Anderson, OF Luis Basabe, RHP Dane Dunning, OF Luis González, RHP Tayron Guerrero, RHP Tyler Johnson, INF Nick Madrigal, C Yermín Mercedes and 1B Andrew Vaughn to the Schaumburg training facility;
  • Signed INF Ryan Goins as a free agent and assigned him to the Schaumburg training facility.

Cue meme of Ryan Goins and Andrew Romine pointing at one another.

Therefore, the 30-man roster stacks up like this:

The Opening Day roster includes 16 pitchers, three catchers, seven infielders and four outfielders. Outfielder Nomar Mazara remains on the injured list.

The White Sox 40-man roster is at 40, and the 60-player pool is at 56.
